Step 1:
Power up Island. Wait about 30 seconds for the light to turn from white to blue.
Step 2:
Connect any port on Island to a LAN port on the existing router. Within seconds, Island’s Smart Swap feature learns the existing network addresses. Remember which port on Island you are using.
Step 3:
Unplug the WAN cable from the existing router and move it to any available port on Island.
Step 4:
Unplug the existing router from Island.
Step 5:
Identify the cable that connects the existing router to the mesh. Unplug it from the existing router and plug it into the same port Island used to learn the network.
Step 6:
Make sure you are connected to the Wi-Fi AP/Mesh and launch the app if you haven’t already. The app will discover Island and continue with set up. Upon completing set up, the Island app lets you easily reinstate any previous DHCP reservations or port forwards.
