Step 1:

Power up Island. Wait about 30 seconds for the light to turn from white to blue.

Step 2:

Plug Island into a LAN port on the combo unit. Within seconds, Island’s Smart Swap feature learns the existing network addresses.

Step 3:

Plug in the AP/mesh, make sure it’s operational, and ensure it’s in AP mode.

Step 4:

Plug the mesh into an available port on Island.

Step 5:

Place the combo unit into bridge mode according to the ISP’s or the manufacturer’s instructions. Disable its Wi-Fi component (if any). Reboot the combo unit. Note: If you can’t put the combo unit into bridge mode, Island will still function, but remote access capability will be affected.

Step 6:

Make sure you are connected to the newly installed Wi-Fi and launch the app if you haven’t already. The app will discover Island and continue with set up.  Upon completing set up, the Island app lets you easily reinstate any previous DHCP reservations or port forwards.
